Wilson's fourteen points were idealistic to say the least and none but one was included in the final accepted draft. They ranged from absolute freedom on the seas in war and peace, basically the opposite of what the Germans did with unrestricted warfare. To remove all economic barriers AKA tariffs, what country is going to give up its tariffs that protect its home businesses? All countries will lower their armies+navies+air force. Belgium be restored, evacuation of Russia. Readjusting Italy's boundaries. And most noticeably the League of Nations which would bring about these fourteen points to a downfall.
