In the Infamy Speech Roosevelt centered it around the
unhonorable workings of the
Japanese government. He worked to channel the anger at pearl harbor onto the
future of the war. Changing anger into a palpable thing that could be worked and manipulated for the war effort. He emphasized how America was the
definite victim and retaliating was the right path to go on. To defend our honor we only had one choice but to strike back. He struck below the belt in not the form of idealism but
patriotism for the country. He said how very many American lives had been lost. His final move was to silence the isolationist movement in an effort to keep America on the world stage.
